چکیده

Computing inter-domain MultiProtocol Label Switching Traffic Engineering Label Switched Path (MPLS-TE LSP) through a pre-determined sequence of domains is quite straight as each Path Computation Element (PCE), using the Backward Recursive PCEbased Computation (BRPC), knows who is the next to be contacted in order to continue the computation. The optimality of the interdomain MPLS-TE LSP path depends strongly on the choice of the pre-determined sequence of domains on which the calculation works. In this paper we propose a novel procedure allowing a forward discovery of multiple inter-domain sequences and the computation of constrained interdomain paths for MPLS-TE LSPs over these domains sequences. Other issues around the inter-domain path computation, such as route discovery and inter-domain loop avoidance, are investigated. Experimental evaluation shows that our solution is effective in terms of protocol and algorithmic efficiency and provides satisfiable performance with high success rate, reasonable message overhead and runtime.

A Distributed Exact Solution to Compute Inter-domain Multi-constrained Paths

The fundamental Quality of Service (QoS) routing problem, which consists in determining paths subject to multiple QoS constraints, has been extensively investigated in the intra-domain context. However, few solutions exist for the inter-domain case, despite the importance of this problem to enable the delivery of services with QoS across domain boundaries. We propose a method that distributes t...

Advanced operations research techniques for multi-constraint QoS routing in internet

Internet Traffic has grown exponentially over last few years due to provision of multiple class services through Internet backbone. With the explosive use of Internet, contemporary Internet routers are susceptible to overloads and their services deteriorate drastically and often cause denial of services. In this paper, an analysis is made how forecasting technique, routing algorithm and Genetic...

Inter - Domain Path Computation with Multiple Constraints

The interest for providing services with performance guarantees across domain boundaries has driven recent technical solutions allowing the computation of constrained inter-domain paths. The computation of optimal paths subject to multiple constraints is an NP-complete problem for which efficient exact solutions exist in the intra-domain case. However, these solutions cannot be used for inter-d...

Shortest Constrained Point - to - Multipoint ( P 2 MP ) Inter - Domain Traffic Engineering Label Switched Paths

The ability to compute paths for constrained point-to-multipoint (P2MP) Traffic Engineering Label Switched Paths (TE LSPs) across multiple domains has been identified as a key requirement for the deployment of P2MP services in MPLSand GMPLS-controlled networks. The Path Computation Element (PCE) has been recognized as an appropriate technology for the determination of inter-domain paths of P2MP...

Multidomain Optical Networks: Issues and Challenges

Carriers usually deploy traffic engineering (TE) technologies such as generalized multi-protocol label switching (GMPLS)-TE to offer valueadded services. Nevertheless, these technologies are restricted to intra-domain networks, narrowing the scope of potential service offers. Currently, there is a clear demand to extend guaranteed service offers beyond domain boundaries. To support inter-domain...
